THIS KEEPS THE CRITTERS OUT
I have tried using the coarsest grade of ordinary steel wool from the hardware store. It never seemed coarse enough plus it always rusts out. This product works great! It is very coarse and made of stainless steel. The package comes with safety gloves, which you will need to protect your hands from the sharp strands and scissors which are needed to cut the product. Where outside critters were just scratching through ordinary steel wool, they DO NOT get through this stuff. I pack it in the opening and then finish off sealing it with Great Stuff expandable foam. Be sure to get it sprayed into the nooks and crannies of this stainless steel wool. TIP: clean the Great Stuff tube with some acetone so you can reuse it without any problems. THIS IS THE PRODUCT THE PROFESSIONALS USE. I highly recommend it.

Plugs those little gaps where critters can get in
I live in the woods and was having problems with field mice and an occasional snake getting into the house. I had a hard time finding an opening where such vermin could enter my house, but finally found an opening through the foundation where a vent for a gas water heater came through. The boot around the vent had moved away from the exterior wall, leaving a nice little mouse/snake sized gap between the vent pipe and the concrete. I used the Pestplug to fill the gap and reseated/sealed the boot and have had no problems since. Knock on wood!

Great buy!
This stuff is great for filling weep holes in brick. The package comes with scissors and gloves needed to handle the mesh!

Great Product.
This is a great product! I used it to plug the weepholes around the base of our home. The only problem that I found was with the scissors that were provided. They weren't sharp enough to cut through the product. I had to use a pair of kitchen shears. Other than that, I would definitely recommend it.

NOT 100% Stainless Steel - Some sort of felt with a few stainless steel strains embedded.
If this was steel, a magnet would attract it, but putting a magnet next to it only pulls out a few of the sparse stainless steel threads embedded in the felt. It's maybe 1% stainless steel and 99% some sort of fairly tough felt. I suspect a squirrel will make short work of it. The package doesn't look like the picture and is called "Fill Fabric Starter Kit". I would like to return it, but I don't have time to wait for the correct product to be shipped, and I don't trust that I will get the right product even if I ask for a replacement. HUGE disappointment.
