The access is very limited and the connectors have four tangs to depress at the same time. Slide J-43181 disconnect tool over the heater line. Clamp tool over line. Then press tool into the connector to release. You just fit it over the hose there and pull towards the front while pulling on the line to get it loose. I learned the hard way after changing my oil pressure sensor recently and removing a quick disconnect brake booster hose without a quick disconnect tool. It certainly was not quick, fun, or easy at all. This tool made removing the quick connect where my branch radiator hose goes into the firewall a breeze. Unfortunately I think I accidentally threw the tool away afterwards as I have been unable to find it since I finished the job. Get this, you'll thank yourself later. I have multiple sets of quick-connect tools so I didn’t think this one would be necessary but bought just in case...Thank goodness I did. After multiple attempts with my existing tools I gave up and used this one which worked very well. It was an extremely tight spot and all the work was done blind and with my hand/hands in awkward positions.
