Both the small Velcro straps wich go around your finger are adjustable up and down, as well as how tightly you fasten them. It seems if you put them in the right spots and tighten, it would straighten your finger against the metal inside the brace. **Q: Can the metal be removed?** A: no it can not be removed **Q: Does the aluminum insert extend from the tip of the finger to the wrist? I have one of these and sleep in it at night. Day to the wrist started to pop lose and Velcro come lose, by 3 days I had to use coban or a wrist wrap over it to keep it on. 10 days later the finger will not stay on. Velcro sucks on it. I would avoid this one. .Otherwise it would be great. I am making do but not a fan. I have a couple weeks left of splinting for this broken knuckle on my ring finger.
