You could try putting it up on blocks, but the safety/stability would be somewhat compromised. If you want to know who to thank for making this bench too small for many North Americans, look no further than the country of manufacture. **Q: Is it possible to do side extensions on this machine?** A: I'm not that strong but I did try a few & you can. It's just not that comfortable as others. Being strong & stable is a must for side extensions. **Q: is the chair adjustable? so that it's lower to the ground? thanks!** A: The chair is not adjustable, but it seems to be at the perfect height for not being "too" high up, while also not knocking your head against the base. What is adjustable are the foot bars.
