Review: Appears to be Genuine GM product - Product appears to be an actual GM product. The box was mostly plain, with a the GM holographic sticker. The shift cable fit my 2004 suburban z71 perfectly. The hardest part was getting the cable out from under the dash. That took probably an hour because of the way it was wrapped in there. It did come with an instruction sheet, that was a photocopy and nearly impossible to read. Youtube is your friend. I did not need any additional parts or pieces to install this. Tip. Before you lock the cables together, adjust the shift linkage. You do this by putting the key to run or starting the truck, put the shifter all the way down to 1st gear, then back to park. turn off the vehicle and lock the cables in place.

**Q: Does it fit a 2001 Chevy Suburban 5.3L, 2wd?**
A: Yes, it fit my 2001 Chevy Tahoe with 5.3.  I watched Tahoe and Suburban videos and the work and parts looked identical and my install was successful.  Note that the connector ends of the upper and lower cable, where they connect under the vehicle, are likely to look different than the OEM cable connector.
