However, there is something to be aware of if you're considering this handle - the spindle is short and can't be changed. I've fitted a couple of these handles in the past and not had to worry about the spindle length, becuase I could use the old spindle with the new handle. However, this handle comes with the spindle firmly attached and it can't be removed without damaging the handle. This is a good thing, but it means that you need to double check the spindle length before ordering. As it happens, I fitted the handle using the short spindle that came with it and it was easy to fit - it's just that turning it doesn't unlock the window because the spindle's too short! In my case this was academic as it was for a skylight window in the bathroom that we never use, so I was only interested in the aesthetic, not the functionality.
