If you search online you can find how to do a little twist of the weight plates (on the inside of the bar) anticlockwise. Hope this helps. The slight angle on a wider and narrow grip does help with upright rows and deadlifts using heavier weights, and it also helps slightly with bicep curls; however, for benching and squats it has to be the straight bar which is wider. As with other comments, the spinlocks do come a little loose but this isn't a problem. They should ideally have two rubber 'O' rings on each end: one in the lock itself (which they have), and one to go between the weight and the bar's collar. I somehow ordered two of these which arrived quickly and well packaged. I have no use for the other, and the seller was very helpful with a quick response and offered a heavy discount on the second bar and it's p&p but unfortunately I have no use for two.
