The bees can sting you through the single layer mesh because when you turn your head from side to side the mesh comes in contact with it. We bought a medium because it was on sale. It fits short in the torso for my wife but she admittedly has a longer torso so it was somewhat expected. There are straps for hands and feet allowing for a tight fit. She has worn it once in hot weather with shorts on and didn’t have any stings and said it was much cooler than a traditional jacket. She had to braid her hair because the veil was touching her nose with a ponytail. This was annoying but not as inconvenient as returning it or beestings would be.
