But there's a solution: run faster. That's the point of these things- you need to get up to x speed before the thing will go airborne, and then it provides resistance while you continue to do that.So this parachute is a step up, and is probably not a good size for a beginner. I stepped up from a smaller one, and I'm still getting used to it, but it's a great challenge and it's strengthening my running.No complaints so far. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works as Expected *by S***Y on Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2013* Parachute works as expected. Only downside is that if there is no wind on the day you decide to run, the resistance will be non-existent and you might not get a lot out of the chute. The wind resistance aspect is important to note because otherwise you're just doing sprints with an insignificant amount of draft being developed. Maybe if you run fast enough it will make a difference, but you have to get to that point. Run on a windy day would be my recommendation. ### ⭐⭐⭐ It works but I am disappointed in the product... *by X***R on Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2011* I recently received/purchased the 40" parachute, I thought it would be useful for my clients when I have them training on the beach. However, the chute strap doesn't fit the chest of most women and some men, it was a completely windy day which most would think would be perfect conditions to use such an item. It barely kept itself up while my boot campers were running with it, some even had to have a hand behind them to keep it from dragging on the sand. It did add a level of resistance but not nearly as effective as I thought it was going to be. As a result I am giving the parachute itself a C- as I will use it again and continue to use it and modify it myself to get the full use and effectiveness of the item. All in all if you're looking for something that can be used with ages 8-15 this would be perfect, anything over that age you would probably want a parachute that has a harness which will be my next purchase.
