Review: The very best you can get in a low-profile video card as of 2024 - There's not much to say about the nVidia 4060 GPU chipset that's unique to this card; anything you see about the 4060's performance and compatibility applies here. Standard nVidia drivers, standard very-mildly-overclocked clock-rate, all that. It's a very good card for anything short of high-framerate 1440p/4k gaming, just like any 4060. What this card is all about is the low-profile form factor. This is a very compact video card. It fits into any low-profile (or, for that matter, standard) case that has video card slots in the back. As it has both a low-profile and a standard backplate, it can be used in a regular tower case perfectly well. Hang on to whichever backplate you don't use, as someday you might want to move it to a new system. It's fine in either, and as there isn't really a price premium for this form factor (at least when I bought it), it's a no-brainer. Specifics: * The fans are fairly quiet, though not 100% silent when gaming. They won't be a distraction for people wanting to use it in an HTPC (home theater PC). * Cooling is fine as long as the rest of your case has decent ventilation. The fans are up to the job. I wouldn't overclock it though, as there isn't a lot of excess cooling capacity. When you overclock, you generate more heat and need more cooling to keep things stable. If you want to do big overclocking, get a standard card in a standard case. For factory speeds, the fans are all you need. * Physical build quality seems good. Everything lines up the way it should, nothing's wobbly or loose. * Note that aftermarket cooling devices like water cooling blocks likely will not fit, as this card uses its own cooling mounting locations. But then, who does that in a low-profile case? That's why you're here, for the form-factor, right? * The card length is quite short, only about 7"/18cm or so. If your motherboard fits, so will this card. Just keep in mind it consumes 2 slots in width. * Keep in mind that you WILL need to connect a 6-pin PCI-E power cable to the card for it to function. Older low-profile cards often could get enough power from just the PCI-E slot, but that's capped at 75 watts, and this card will pull more than that under load. Keep this in mind when you select a power supply for an HTCP build using this card. What it comes down to is this: if you're doing a low-profile build for HTPC or gaming use, this is by far your best GPU option as of 2024.
Review: Very quiet for its size. - I upgraded from an RTX A2000 6GB. I thought I'd be stuck on it forever because I thought the only step forward (for low profile GPUs) would be the thousand-dollar A4000 SFF. I'm glad I discovered this card - the A4000 SFF is still superior, but the RTX 4060 LP is still a worthwhile upgrade. It is, to my knowledge, the only low profile card to ever require additional PCI-E power connectors so make sure your power supply can handle it. This card sticks very hard to the advertised 115W TDP while other 4060s frequently surpass that (highest one I've seen was doing 130W) so it may not perform 1:1 to its full-size siblings, but it's close enough, and as echoed in other reviews, the best reasonably priced low profile card you can get. By far the most impressive thing about this card is the cooling solution. I used to have the Zotac 1650 Low Profile card that screamed like a banshee under load. Then my RTX A2000 spoiled me by being completely silent always. I was worried then about how loud I should expect this card to be, since it is a downdraft cooler like the 1650 LP. I'm happy to report that, although it is a little louder than the RTX A2000, it is still supremely quiet. What noise it does make is more like the whirling of air as opposed to the screech of the 1650. This is thanks to a surprisingly high quality heatsink and triple fan setup. I thank Gigabyte for creating this product, and hope to use my 4060 LP for many years to come.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this card have "fan stop" or do the fans run at some minimum level (like 1500 rpm) all the time, even at idle?**
A: I have it and I do believe that the fans are always running from the moment I power it on, however, they are inaudible at idle

**Q: Will this run off of motherboard power or does it need power directly from the PSU?**
A: The motherboard only provides 75W and its a 115W card. It takes an 8 pin pcie power connector however, if your psu only has a 6 pin you can use an adapter to 8 pin, that's what I did.

**Q: Power supply requirements?**
A: Hi Spartan,

The RTX 4060 minimum PSU requirement is 550watts.
Hope this helps answer your question!

- John

**Q: Does it include the low profile bracket?**
A: Hi Joseph,

Yes the low profile bracket is included in the box.
You will need a simple screwdriver to remove the screws on the rear io to switch between full height and low-profile brackets.

Hope this helps answer your question!

- John

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best low profile card
*by J***Y on February 22, 2024*

I bought this with casual, living room 4k 60fps gaming in mind. Or put another way, a console without the limitations of a console. I'm limited by my Denon receiver currently to HDMI 2.0, hence the 60fps at 4k. It does that well when paired with a an i5-12600. Cyberpunk 2077 settings mostly maxed out, raytracing off, and DLSS set to performance. It doesn't get louder than the case fans do. I have it in a Silverstone ML04 which blends in with my other home theater gear and fits nicely in my cabinet. I'll be excited to see what else can be done in a similar sized format down the road. I hope Intel and AMD are watching. We spent too long with the GTX1650 as the best consumer low-profile GPU, this is a breath of fresh air. This does require 8 pin power so be prepared for that - commonly low profile GPUs have been limited to 75W of PCI slot power in the past. I'm glad they did this though, as a slot-powered 4050 (or whatever they may have called it) may well have been cheaper, but it wouldn't be enough for 4k 60fps. That would probably be a 1080 only card. The cooler design is seemingly pretty decent. No extruded aluminum here, it looks like the usual heat-pipe-and-fin-stack combo you see in higher performance applications. I am suspect of the longevity of the fans if run 24/7. There is no zero fan mode on this card, which is odd because I bet the cooler is good enough to pull it off. Seems like something that should be added with a firmware update. Overall I recommend this card for your low profile GPU needs.
