Colour is a tasteful gunmetal grey and there is a Blackberry logo on the rear just above the micro usb socket. Inside is smooth jet black and underside is rubberised to prevent slip. Just use a standard usb charger cable or your phone charger cable to start charging. The 9700 sits snuggly in the craddle with little movement. The pins on the bottom right and left sides of your phone rest against the contacts in the charger base. Once the phone is in the craddle a subtle bluish light switches on to confirm its charging. As with a normal charger the phone enters bedside mode when in the craddle. This makes it a great bedside clock when you change bedside settings in your phone software to dim the LED and turn the cell radio off. In summary a well made and stylish device which makes charging much easier than using the phones micro usb port.
