Review: Strawberries galore ! - Bought this to plant strawberries in, as I was fed up feeding slugs and snails ! It is made of good quality plastic and when filled with potting mix there is a good stability in it , (the weight increases dramatically when filled), so far it has never blown over. It is a nice size and I put one plant in each compartment. The colour is nice and fits in with all my other planters !
Review: No drainage - The size of the chambers is good for planting produce like lettuce. Very easy to assemble, seems sturdy. There are no holes in the bottom of each chamber which means that there is no drainage. I used a hot paperclip to poke holes for drainage. This way the plants can not only avoid sitting in overrated pots but they can also water the plant below them.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you please clarify the measurements?**
A: 2 layers of pots -- 9 ins high and about 14ins at the widest part of one layer across but each pot is 5-6 ins in diameter. By the time they are stacked there is not a lot of room except for one plant per pot and the stacking restricts the height of the plants used.  I have used 2 layers for herbs. The 3 layers had cosmos at the top but the annuals in the lower layers were not suitable. However bedding plants would be better.

**Q: Is it best to drill a single hole in centre of each unit, or one hole in each pot ( i.e total of three holes per unit.)

A: I did 3, one in each pot, which worked well for drainage. As someone else has mentioned, use a metal skewer or drill bit heated over a flame - the plastic melts and creates a hole, rather than the plastic cracking.

**Q: Strawberry planter trio pot. Are the three central holes sufficient for outdoor use or should I also drill each separate pod given the strawberries do**
A: yes i drilled each seperate pot and planted my stawberry plants and they are coming on very well.

**Q: It says 6x but only 5 layers are shown**
A: I received 6 layers - all planted up with strawberry plants now and looking great!

I absolutely love these, they're so easy to stack up and each level is big enough that they contain enough soil to have three strawberry (or, as I've found, lobelia or verbena) plants in and they don't struggle for water or nutrients as with some smaller pots. I find that even when it's rainy the lower levels are sheltered, so every so often I switch them around to make sure everyone gets rain and some sheltered time. Nice and sturdy too, with the exception of when my dog ran headlong into them they haven't even wobbled and we have strong winds through the garden at times. Will buy again.
