Review: First off, I installed this on a meal corrugated siding trailer, despite the manufacturer recommendation that it only be installed on flat sides. It did not create any issue and mounted up just fine. Instead of the small dabs of silicone to seal the screws, I used butyl tape along the entire backing bar and upper mount plate. This ensures there is no place for debris to get stuck between my siding and handle as well as keeping the screws water tight. I am not sure if I would trust my full weight on this unit if falling, the leverage would likely pull the screws just as it would on my other trailer mount handrail (vs stair mount), but it is more than enough to steady oneself on the stairs entering or exiting the trailer. As an older couple my wife and I really appreciate this extra peace of mind and stability!
