I’ve never fallen in them but I am more careful. If the route was 50/50 road and trail I would consider a different shoe. If it’s more than 50% trail I’d use them as they are so good off road (waterproof, grippy and comfortable). **Q: Are these totally 100 percent waterproof** A: No boot will ever be 100% waterproof. **Q: Are these true to fit and how is width** A: I am usually a 10.5 but have learnt to size up to an 11 when it comes to Salomon. I have quite wide feet but have a standard fit which suits me. **Q: I requested a return for these as they were too small and was told they would be collected next working day, they havent 3 days later** A: Speak to the retailer ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great trail trainers - but go half a size up!! *by K***R on 15 April 2021* These are great really comfortable, love the lace system so much better than normal laces. They are as you would expect from this brand extremely well made and comfortable, used them last weekend in the rain and sleet for outside HIIT training including dragging a heave sled and had really good traction (and dry feet).My only comment is they size small - I am a size 10 / 10.5 occasionally but went for size 11 in these and they are a perfect fit - so go at least half a size up on your normal size. I have weak ankles from sport and found these to be providing solid ankle and arch support. Highly recommended. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Comfortable *by P***N on 27 May 2025* Good walking shoes- comfortable ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for exclusively off-road running but very limited use on tarmac *by N***R on 24 October 2018* These are a great pair of trail running shoes if you're going to be exclusively running on soft ground (grass, mud, earth, sand, etc). They are comfortable, sturdy, waterproof, supportive on uneven ground, and will take a battering in their stride (no pun intended!). I have a neutral pronation and these shoes feel good for me over long distances. However, they are clearly designed for digging into soft ground and therefore have a relatively small contact area with hard surfaces due to their stud like tread configuration. The rubber is soft so traction on tarmac is not in itself a problem. However, due to the stud configuration and softness of the rubber, you will get very few miles from them on tarmac surfaces before the studs wear out. So much so that I don't use them when I'm running trails that include any tarmac surface whatsoever, and have bought a pair of Saucony Trail Runners for such purposes. They are awesome for tough mudder / hell runner type events etc, but I wouldn't rely on them as my only trail runner as I suspect I'd need a new pair every 200km or so.
