My spouse is gone 4 1/2 years but for me I think about what we didn’t get to do and I do miss him more now. When I’m driving my car once in a while it feels like someone is sitting on my lap. So I Pat my lap and “tell him how much I miss him”. As a huge fan of President Reagan I was intrigued by the prospect of learning more about his final journey. Ms. Davis gives all of us much comfort in knowing that her father's going home to God was as peaceful as we would have hoped for. Her insight that the disease could not change his soul is such a beautiful reminder that, while attending to our loved one's physical needs, we ought always to remember that distinct interior character that we love in them.
