BUT my flask is from TAL aka bought at Walmart so it’s not from thee brand Hydroflask that is marketed. The instructions come and say if it doesn’t fit you just need to put it in hot water for 15 seconds and tug with force to fit it. Now I’m an average woman with no weight training skills whatsoever. I kept dipping and dipping in the water to make the part that goes under the metal malleable enough to fit it. It wasn’t easy but I did it. I personally recommend if you have a TAL flask, leave the plastic in the water for about a minute or so. when you pull it out try and try to dry it, start pulling it with your strength to stretch it. Then put it on the flask and then it should fit. Its a baby pink just like in the picture. The handle does come with directions, and one of the final steps in the directions is to tighten this piece to secure it. I verified that the black plastic piece was shown in the product picture, as well as compared the handle I received to the one I ordered for my hus band (also from Galaxtek, but the mint/black one), which does have the black plastic piece...I contacted the company (Galaxtek) about my concern, and received a reply back stating "I totally understand your concern. However, you do not need to worry about that black plastic piece to tighten the cord. It is not necessary, since the plastic piece and the cord are secure enough to hold the bottle from falling off. If you have any other concern, please feel free to contact us."Every other similar paracord handle on Amazon seems to have that plastic piece. I have a 40oz Hydro Flask, so I hope it really is as secure as they say it is.
