It's a globe within another clear glass sphere so it gives the impression of floating. And it does need light to help propel the spin (its all sciency and to do with magnets - don't ask me to explain). It did take a couple of days before it started spinning for us but you just have to be patient. **Q: Does a bubble develop inside the globe after some time?** A: No. There is no air bubble in it at all. It's very well made. **Q: Do the clouds move or are they static on the globe?** A: The whole globe image rotates so yes, the clouds move, but no, they don’t move relative to the earth. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just an expensive ornament but it fascinates me. I first saw one of these about two years ago and thought I want one. So finally I got one and although I’m not somebody who tends to like ornaments I really like these MOVA Globes. It’s really relaxing just watching it spin. Be warned though they are heavier than you think and they do need to be placed a well lit area for it to spin. Before buying make sure you select the globe you want in the size you want as the selection is quite extensive from different versions of earth to other planets and moons. The one I bought is a 6” cloud covered earth. Would I buy another?
