This digital ballast is 500% better than a magnetic ballast, 400/250 watt switching complete system , just buy a nice hps digital enhanced 400 watt bulb your good! Never touch a bulb with your fingers use a nice glove or a sock. My old sun system 400 hps watt system still works magnetic though. Metal halide (MH) and high pressure sodium (HPS) lamps. 400 watt or 250 watt. Best bang for the buck!!! Sun System web site has the specs and more pics!!!No dimming crap! I believe if you dim a bulb you just ruined it. Make sure to check the option to have this shipped in some kind of box or gift packaging if you're gonna buy these lights on Amazon.Aside from that like I said these lights are absolutely great.
