A: Whatever purse you are making you would need to feed the material through the four holes and either tie it off or sew it, depends on what look you are going for

**Q: Could you stain them to be a darker color or are they coated?**
A: They are coated

**Q: How do they clip on?**
A: The metal pieces connect through the handle with a screw, so you just unscrew, attach to fabric bag & re-screw

**Q: What is the dimension of the attachment device?**
A: Don't remember, but do remember that the replacement handle matched the size of the purse handle was replacing! So my best guess is that there is a standard for the construction of purse.

This wasn't an entirely smooth purchase, originally the handles I received only had 1 instead of 4 of the rings which you need to attach them to the bag you are making. However, I received a replacement very quickly and as you can see above they really worked very well on the crocheted bag that I made. So a good purchase.
