I carried on with the One week treatment first. Did a water change, waited 2 weeks. Did water change weekly and scraped off as much algae I could from the glass, decors and cut off the badly affected leaves. Did the one week treatment again and now there is almost no algae. There will be always some but just have to make sure no other factors affect algae bloom e.g. overfeeding, overstocking, too long light hours, direct sunshine. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ OK when used with some common sense. *by P***E on 6 June 2016* Only problem is that the instructions are in German. Its easy enough to find the English version in a gooogle search though.This works if you clean the tank a first - removing what you can without breaking down everything. Do a water change, then wait 2 days for the dechlorinator to settle. This treatment will stain the water green for the length of the treatment, and don't do any water changes in that time.Algae will return following the course, so its better to address the problem at source - ie. C02, light, phosphates, nitrates. Don't use this product with any inverts - shrimps / crabs / etc. OK for use with Catfish.I got this to eliminate some nasty black beard algae which came in from somewhere. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Did Excellent Job of Green and Blackbeard Algae *by M***R on 2 September 2019* I purchased this to help me clean up a second hand aquarium I had picked up, which was caked in calcium deposits and overrun with stubborn green algae and what looked like traces of blackbeard algae along some of the seams. After some vigorous scrubbing and scraping I wasn't making much headway so I opted to use Esha Protalon 707. I followed the dosing guidelines aver the course of two weeks and noticed a significant reduction in the algae over that time. I periodically wiped the panes with a clean sponge and used a firm toothbrush to help debride the corners and seams. To circulate the water I used a small HOB filter loaded with fine filter wool to capture particles floating in the water.By the end of the full 14 day treatment, the front and side panes were clear and only traces of green could be seen around the seams and rear panel and after a complete water change, I chose to repeat the treatment to eradicate the remaining algae. The final traces were gone by day 17, but I persevered all the way to day 28 in case there were traces I just couldn't see.
