The limit would be the amount of material you have but joint compound works. The limit is when you get tired of pumping it. Maybe easily 6"x6", but you can go bigger **Q: the instructions say to poke a hole in the red bottle cap where indicated? - is that the red plug on the bottom of the bottle?** A: It us the red cap that goes on top where you fill it , poke a hole in that or your mud will not flow **Q: Can you use regular drywall mud?** A: Yes. Use All Purpose mud as it has more glue than Plus 3 which will help it stick to the surface better. Add enough water to the mud to give it the consistency of pancake batter. Wait a few minutes after spraying to give it a knockdown look. Good luck… ## Frequently Bought Together - Homax 41072041218 Texture Touch Up Kit, Wall and Ceiling Texture and Sprayer - 2.2L Homax 8322 Texture Interior Pre-Mixed Wall Texture Orange Peel Knockdown - Knockdown Texture Sponge Drywall Wall Patch Ceiling Texture Sponge Home Decor for Repair DIY Painting Ceiling(2 Pieces,13 x 15 x 6 cm) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/57109530-homax-41072041218-texture-touch-up-kit-wall-and-ceiling-texture](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/57109530-homax-41072041218-texture-touch-up-kit-wall-and-ceiling-texture) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-25*
