Every bead on this teething toy is strong and perfectly smooth. Three of the large beads are tightly bound in crochet, which adds a bit of color as well as texture. The other six are decorated with teddy silhouettes. The beads are strung on a very strong, non-elastic cord that I am sure could not be broken.
