I wanted to replace my DC plug for my gun safe led lights as the original plug was bulky and took up too much space on the built in power strip so I wanted something that took up less space and came across this and it worked out perfectly. Quality seems good and is able to power up the led lights in my safe.

**Q: Is this "center negative".**
A: No, center positive.

**Q: Which end of cable is 5 volts input and which is 12 volts output?**
A: 5 volts is the USB-A input side. The output is on the barrel plug and is 12V.

**Q: I have a 5v/3a power bank that I'm planning to use to power up a 12v 1.5a monitor. Will this work?**
A: The max output current for 12V is 1 amp. Your monitor requires 1.5 amps so technically the draw over the rating of the adapter and will not work.

**Q: Could this be used for audio equipment as a 12v trigger to activate (an amplifier) from another device that has USB but no trigger output?**
A: Probably will work. 
I used a 5v usb connector in my car to feed this device. It gave me a 12 v output to supply a radar detector.
