Sound quality is great for the home, haven't used it outdoors yet. Tone is good and depth of sound and clarity spot on. Just be aware though that when you switch is on for the first time and the charge is low, the maximum volume level is reduced until fully charged. This is something they don't tell you in the instructions! Charge it up and there's plenty of volume. ### ⭐ Half volume on iPhone 7 *by E***Y on 13 December 2017* When I link this in my car to my iPhone 7 it will only go half volume. I put it up back high again for it to immediately go straight back to half way.Checked the settings on my phone and it’s set to the highest output etc. No idea why it does this ### ⭐⭐⭐ Some good points but more minuses – don’t be swayed, most definitely not a 5 star product! *by N***H on 12 March 2015* Most reviewers seem to have been carried away by the Go, similar to those that work for that “What…Fi”? mag! I normally take the latter’s reviews with a pinch of salt, and I would contend that the reactions on this page are symptomatic of today’s music on the go mp3/iPod/Beats generation, in that people are all too easily accepting of performance mediocrity, and no-one seems to have experienced really good decent hi-fi quality. I DON’T want to come across like an audiofool snob who won’t accept anything less than a valve amp with electrostatic speakers in the “listening room”, but the Go is a big let-down in that one most important area: sound quality. In summary, the sound is “small” and does not project much at all. It is certainly NOT “room filling” (in my medium sized 12ft x 10ft ding room using an iPad Air with Spotify). It does simply make a change from listening to the two tinny slots on the Air, but that’s about all. There’s no depth or definition to the sound, in fact, the somewhat thuddy bass makes an overall murky impression. The volume appears limited too (even after full charge). If you think I’m being overly-harsh or that it must be my equipment, I can only answer that my Bluetooth-enabled Myryad RS kitchen radio using a Sony mp3 player puts the sound to shame, as does the dedicated pocket-sized dock treble/mini sub I have in the lounge for the Sony. The radio was much cheaper than the Go when purchased, and the dock a little more. Using either, the sound has bounce and gusto and extra volume on tap in comparison. Unfortunately, the Sony mp3 player, despite being a 2.1 Bluetooth device and supposedly compatible with the Go, resolutely refuses to pair.On the plus side, the unit is nicely neat and compact, and despite the use of plastic, is solidly put together, though I would prefer the metal body option. I have the red unit – which is more “shades of raspberry sorbet” than a rich red in my view. The buttons on top are the same colour and recessed into the body. This is all part of the design show, and Bayan could have usefully given a different finish or feel to them. They’re a little difficult to see clearly, but they don’t have to be pressed too often. Pairing is easy and quick, though I have noticed drop-outs in connectivity, but this could be down to the battery running out of steam – which it does too easily for comfort I’m afraid, particularly after periods of non-use. Recharging is straightforward, but needs to be taken into another area of the house where I have a Blackberry charger. It seriously needs a mains charger included in the package, and one with a long lead to boot. The inclusion of only a USB to PC lead is limiting and rather stingy. The cover switch on idea is OK when used, but I tend to have the Go permanently on stand, and use the power button on top to activate it. Folding the cover back and forth with its dimpled material could potentially transfer grit onto the speaker frontage if you were to stand it on a less than clean surface: not mentioned elsewhere.I bought this speaker from Amazon when on a £20 saving offer, and still regarded it as somewhat overpriced, but then it was a Christmas prezzie for the missus. I’m now somewhat dismayed to see it available in some quarters for less than £50, but such is life.
