The ice blocks have lids at the top - but these lids are just dummies, they don't come off and the ice blocks cannot be refilled. Hope this helps! **Q: How long do they take to freeze before use and how long will things stay cold for in a lunch bag?** A: I usually place in the freezer the night before they are used. I place one in my sons packed lunch bag during the summer tokeep his lunch cool. Sorry I'm not able to advise on times. **Q: Do they say "100ML"? I want to make sure they are not taken from me at airport security** A: They are 100ml. I wouldn't take the chance.
