I use them to take my cast iron skillets out of the oven, and they not only protect my hands but also safeguard my countertops. The Fog Blue color is beautiful—a soft blue gray that looks great in my kitchen. The quality is excellent. Each potholder has a clean, sturdy seam all the way around, and there’s plenty of room to slide your hand inside comfortably. The silicone side is securely attached, and I haven’t noticed any loose threads or flaws. I also really appreciate the loop tag, which makes it easy to hang them rather than keeping them in a drawer. The fabric is soft, and I’m so happy with the feel and quality that I’ll be ordering the oval size in the same color. These potholders are a great value for the money.

**Q: Has anyone put these in the washing machine?  The tag says wipe clean only.  It seems highly impractical for the 100% cotton side.**
A: I toss mine in the washer with my regular laundry. I put a little Dawn liquid on greasy spots. I put them in the dryer on Delicate.  They still look great.

**Q: Temperature threshold?**
A: 500 degrees F according to their written info sheet

**Q: Will the Cotten scorch using in grill or hot smoker?**
A: One would assume they would burn if coming in contact with the coals, etc.  I'm only answering to agree with Michael Palmer. They are terrible.  Too bulky and not flexible enough creating a hazard when dealing with hot items.

How I arrived at my overall rating: ***** (5 stars) Value ***** (5 stars) Purchase price: $9.00 Saw that there was a price reduction, so bought to try them. I think worth buying even if it were a little more expensive. Quality/Durability ***** (5 stars) Duration of use: 2 years Good quality, stitching is tight (no loose threads). Haven't burned my hands on anything yet. Decent grip Ease of Use/Assembly/Install: ***** (5 stars) This was the first "hybrid" type potholder we bought. It provides excellent protection from the heat, even for pans that are ripping hot. The silicone is not as forgiving as cloth, so when gripping something heavy or large, I usually still opt for gloves (to ensure a more secure grip). But for everything else, I usually turn to these. Usefulness/Appearance/Fun Factor: ***** (5 stars) These are definitely useful! Have them scattered between the oven and the toaster oven. They look great, are heavy duty and seem to clean up ok. I just checked ours and there are no obvious stains on it.
