I was concerned that it would not provide enough protection, but as I often hold the tablet in my hand when using rather than standing/laying it on a desk, the "military grade" case were too bulky, so I decided to try this one (bought through desertcart Resale, condition described as "very good" - actually as new, I assume it was an unopened returned item). Materials/Design: Slimline so doesn't add too much bulk/weight. The tablet is held in a soft tpu surround. It fits perfectly (snug but not difficult to put in) and covers all around the tablet edge, not just the corners as some seem to. Cutouts allow full access to the buttons and ports. The inner screen cover is a microfibre material, so soft and shouldn't harm the tablet screen and the outer cover has a pleasant texture, not hard and plasticky. Stand mode: Despite some reviews suggesting that the case isn't very stable as a stand, I've found that it actually supports the tablet really well. You do need to make sure that you don't just 'flop it' quickly into a triangle, put it properly into place and it holds securely. The only disadvantage is that in landscape mode, the power and volume buttons aren't easily accessible as they are against the table. Case/cover mode: As mentioned, the tpu case surrounds the edges of the tablet completely (other than the access cutouts) and should protect the tablet well from bumps or drops onto carpet in the home. You may want something more robust if you're taking your tablet out and about though. The magnetic closure on the lid is strong enough to keep it shut, and the sleep/wake functions work just as they should. The s-pen has a dedicated cut out on the rear of the case for charging, or it can be placed in the pen holder below the tablet inside the case, which is more secure. The colour is what was advertised, a nice dark green.
