I cleaned the ledge of waste, found the spikes easy to cut with pliers to shape the first strip to fit in an awkward corner, and fitted the remainder in a double row. The glue was easy to apply using a caulking gun, and job was done in a few minutes. All the proof I needed was that all spikes are still intact a month later - not broken - and stuck where I installed them, no pigeons, no mess. Time will tell how long they last up there, but so far I'm very pleased with the swift delivery, the ease of use , and the results . I had a problem with seagulls resting on the edge of our lodge and mess all over our decking NO LONGER. I like the book included to help with your experience. It has some really helpful tips which I have not thought of it before... I like the basic quality. I found them hard to get a drill in between the spikes.
