My nearly 50 year old husband had to help my 11year old son because nothing was pre-threaded for the screws. No screwdrivers were included and we broke a jeweler's screwdriver trying to get one of the screws in place. This seems fun to play with once assembled, but this is an adult project. The instructions are not clear at all. This was a gift and I do Not recommend for anyone under 18. **Q: Does this have to be a tin can? Most soda cans are aluminum.** A: Yes, the can MUST be at least 97.6% tin, or it won't work. **Q: What is my purpose?** A: Nobody can tell you that, Little Timmy. It is a privilege and obligation that you must discharge yourself. **Q: does the 4M Tin Can Cable Car automaticly reverse and how fast does it move?** A: If you assemble it correctly it will automatically reverse once it reaches the end. It doesn't move very fast. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐ Don't buy! *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 25 December 2025* A terrible build. The instructions are awful. A cog came broken so that it needed to be glued back together. Definitely not something an 8 year old could do without a massive amount of adult support. In fact my husband built it himself as just too complicated for my child. Throughly disappointing ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ great birthday present *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 10 July 2013* When my son got this he thought it was great, he's been fiddling with models of all sorts through out his life. Although I haven't seen it yet I felt happy because I knew he would enjoy mucking about with it and he is bound to find some thing other than want it says on the box to do with as well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bonito y práctico *by on Reviewed in Mexico 21 June 2026* Excelente producto para los niños que les gusta los robots ## Frequently Bought Together - 4M Toysmith, KidzRobotix Tin Can Robot, DIY Science Kits STEM Powered Kids, For Boys & Girls Ages 8+ - 4M Green Science Solar Rover, DIY STEAM Powered Kids Science Kit, Boys & Girls Ages 5+ --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/58860678-4m-toysmith-kidzrobotix-tin-can-robot-diy-science-kits-stem](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/58860678-4m-toysmith-kidzrobotix-tin-can-robot-diy-science-kits-stem) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-04*
