It doesn't come with too many, but enough for her to make at least 5 coasters, assuming she uses 10 for each. Or she can make whatever else with them, she loves crafting. I have looked them over and do not see any splits or areas that could cause splinters. The colors are nice and bright. 50 seemed like a perfect amount, but once received I see I have no choice but to order more. That is not a big deal because these are priced just right. You may be able to find a better deal but will the quality be the same. Possibly, but I am just fine right here with these.
