I also wanted a really airtightcontainer so refrigerator storage wouldn't dry out the contents. I found Glasslock to be a great choice--it meets both my requirements, plus glass is easier to thoroughly clean & doesn't retain smells or stains. I removed all my BPA plastic storage pieces and replaced them with Glasslock. I did a lot of comparison research and went with Glasslock. The seal is rock solid. The glass is a little heavy, but I think it is minimal. I do not microwave in it with the lid on either, but I do wash the lids on the top rack of the dishwasher. I have a set of Glasslock and use this piece (8 cup) to store all the lids in.
