It is soft enough, not like cashmere but then it is not a cashmere price. It looks as though it may be from recycled wool, which is great for me as I am becoming somewhat anti-consumer and anti-waste. The issue I have with it, not the fault of the wrap, is that when I have one end over my left shoulder hanging down in front a bit, no matter how long I make the other end, when I wrap it around my right shoulder and toss it up over the left, it falls down almost immediately. Even if I scrunch it up like a scarf and toss it high on my shoulder, it still falls down almost immediately. So you can't really wrap yourself in it, which is how I had planned to wear it. I will continue to experiment, and of course you could wear it around both shoulders with the ends hanging down evenly in front. And you also can't wear it like the photo, because the end draped over the front would never stay there, it would just drape straight down unless you used a pin or something. I live in LA where it gets chilly on winter mornings and evenings but not to where you really need a winter coat. So this is perfect for al fresco dining and concerts. I plan to wear it "forever" once I figure out how.
