These books come in a box and are great stories to read to my 9 and 11 year old boys each night at bed time. They are very easy to read and generally have the same theme of some really bad guys out to steal something from a very good person, with four kids and their dog, Timmy, stopping the bad guys and saving the day. The kids get to go off on the most ridiculous trips without any parental supervision, which is probably why my kids love these stories so much. They always want me to read "just one more chapter" to them! I often see the boys quietly reading these books the next morning because they just can't wait until the next bedtime to find out what happened :-). Note that some of the characters are somewhat gender and class profiled (these books were first published in 1947), which is irritating but George, who is actually Georgina, is a strong willed tom boy who I think my boys very much admire and respect.
