## Description

Nashik premium multi grains. Ingredients: medium grain brown rice, brown sweet rice, red rice, buckwheat groats, quinoa, black rice, millet.

Review: A kitchen staple (when used properly) - I just ordered this but I've bought it in stores before and some of the comments have me shaking my head. This is intended to be ADDED to white rice, there is even a ratio of how much to use right on the front of the bag! Of course it's going to be expensive if you're only cooking the grains... and probably not all that tasty either but you do you. You're using about four to five times too much of it... at the end of the day it's intended to be mixed with medium grain rice and cooked properly (rinsed until clear and I preferably in the rice cooker) and it's ridiculous to blame the product because you decided to do something totally different. Made properly, it's healthy, tasty, and great for stretching your rice further. The price is comparable to store price (if you can find it in the store)
Review: Delicious and high quality mix - This was my first time buying this mix and it was well worth the price. You can taste the higher quality in the perfect chewiness and the flavor of the grains overall. I chose the Nishiki grain mix because it was the only brand I could find that didn’t have a grain that contained gluten, since I’m intolerant. And I’m glad it was Nishiki because I already knew they consistently deliver high quality rice, at least for what you can get in the US. I used this to make japgokbap in my instant pot, and with it added Sekka Japanese rice (3 parts rice to 1 part of the Nishiki mix) along with soaked adzuki beans, black beans, and black eyed peas. I cooked it at high pressure for 20 minutes. It came out perfect, although now, I (finally!) invested in a rice cooker that has the capability to cook mixed rice, so hopefully I can get an even better result. This will for sure be my go to for mixed grains from now on.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: The recipe calls for adding this to white rice. Has anyone tried it with brown rice? WW says 7 pts with white, 1 pt with brown.**
A: If you prefer stickier rice, add white. We use this mixture for kimbab, to have mixed with other side dishes or to eat with dried laver. If you want a drier healthier meal, brown rice is best. We have this when we eat rice alone with kimchi and stew/soup. Please try both as see what is good for you. Everyone has their own preference...

**Q: Do you cook separately and then add to white rice or does it cook mixed together**
A: Super easy and great tasting! 30 min start to finish. 15 min simmer. 10 min to sit. I do not add white rice. Use just as comes from bag. 2 cups grain, 3 cups water, = 6 cups best ever.

**Q: how many servings is this 2 lb bag of rice? Why is there no nutritional label in this post? I thought that was legally required.**
A: Depends how big the servings are.

It’s just rice. How good can it realistically be for you.

I like the product. I mix it with brown and black rice. It tastes good.

**Q: Has anyone cooked this in an instant pot? what is the ratio of grains mix to water/broth? thanks!**
A: One to one, the same as standard brown rice.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Turned purple, but good texture and flavor.
*by S***. on 10 July 2026*

I mixed the Nishiki 1:3 with Basmati rice and cooked in standard rice cooker. It turned everything purple. (It doesn’t look as vibrant, in the pic, as it actually is). We actually love the purple color! The Nishiki added great texture and flavor. Will definitely buy again.
