I would expect Amazon to recall this product. **Q: Would you recommend these for a couple getting their first apartment?** A: Yes, boyfriend and I have used these for 2 years. The nonstick works great and pans have lasted. The only issue I've had is the large skillet does not have a lid that fits so you would have to get one elsewhere. These are advertised as not dishwasher safe, but I ran mine through the dishwasher before seeing that and there's nothing wrong with them sooo... Definitely recommend for anyone trying to get good quality for a cheaper price **Q: what is better non stick or stainless steel** A: I have a set of Revere Ware stainless steel, made in Clinton, Illinois and Rome, New York that I purchased in the 70's. I then got some new-fangled, non-stick Teflon. Until it scratched. I learned it then leaks chemicals into my food so I got some stuff that says I can use metal and scrubbies on it. Until it scratched. Chemical leakage again, so I started using more of my USA-made cast iron, seasoned them well, used steel wool (no soap) to clean off stuck-on food, and I got the bonus of added iron in my food. Listening to commercials, I then bought a GREEN frying pan that's guaranteed not to stick. It's ok but did stick and got scratched. Probably chemicals in my food again, as well as a white pan I bought. So I started using my Revere Ware stainless; I don't use soap on the inside unless I absolutely need to, I can soak them, use steel wool, scrape with a metal spatula, use Easy-Off if I really burn stuff on, and it's as good as new! Food rarely sticks and I use little oil to coat the bottom unless a recipe says 1/4 or 1/2 inch or so. I say buy a good brand of stainless with handles that are welded or riveted on, and you'll have them to hand down to your grandkids! I'm 70 and got these when I was 23! They have copper clad bottoms for... I don't know why! I think heat distribution. P.S. I remember they were $89 for 12" & 8" pans, 1-1/2, 2, & 4 qt sauce pans, the larger having a steamer (never knew you put veges in that!) and lids for all. The 3 sizes are perfect for basically anything I need on the stovetop, and lids that I already have fit since they’re standard sizes. I gave them 4 stars for two reasons: 1. They are slightly bowed in the middle; when I add oil, it rolled to the edges a bit. Not a major issue, since the nonstick coating is fantastic, just a little irksome for a precise cook. 2.
