Our older blind cat needs a harness to go outside, other harnesses we’d tried didn’t fit correctly (the ones which cover more of the back) because he’s quite frail in his old age. Review: Finally an escape-proof harness for nervous cats - I bought this harness for my cat Kevin, who is very skittish and has managed to escape from other harnesses in the past — even ones that claimed to be “secure”. This one is a game changer. The fit is excellent and the design makes it almost impossible for a cat to back out of it when they panic. The straps sit well around the chest and shoulders, so there are no big gaps for escape, and the pressure is distributed nicely instead of pulling on the neck. The material feels sturdy but not stiff, and it doesn’t seem to restrict movement once fitted correctly. We’ve already been outside for a short walk. Even when Kevin got scared and tried to bolt, he could not escape the harness, which gave me time to calmly pick him up and keep him safe. That alone makes this worth it. If you have a nervous, wriggly, or “Houdini” cat, I honestly can’t recommend this enough. Just make sure to adjust it properly and introduce outdoor time slowly. Best harness I’ve tried so far.
