When a person is ready they can progress to a translation which uses more of the liturgical or traditional words that are used in more traditional translations. They have a glossary which is called "Word List" and basic black and white maps. Personally I consider having maps is essential to any version of the Bible. What appealed upon looking at it was a "bible format" but easier to read then the "normal-age requirements" at regular Christian stores. This bible uses more kid-friendly words and explanations then the normal bible for children. I've looked for "this-type of bible" for over 2 yrs and could not find one anywhere. I finally found one at Walmart on clearance and wished there was 2 more but not. It has large print for not only young eyes, but also aging eyes. It seems that comprehension is so much easier when one does not have to struggle to see!
