I ended up keeping the size larger (she wears an 8 1/2 I kept the size 9) and put a nonslip pad in the front of the inside of the slipper that pushes her foot back for a comfortable fit and feel and fit. I generally wear a 7 and bought an 8 and it was perfect. However, I bought an 8 for my mom who is usually an 8 and it ran a little short. Probably best to get one size larger for the length. Also one of these has memory foam and the other is fury inside. Make sure you select the right inside lining. I got the fury by accident on one pair. Good for mom who is 99 years old.
