Good buy **Q: What are the deck plate dimensions and what is it made of?** A: The deck plate is metallic. It is 10 and a 1/2 inches long By 2 and a 1/2 inches wide. It tapers off at the ends to about 2" wide. **Q: I need an "exact" dimension on how far "forward and how far back" the handle travels. I have limited space before the handle will hit the wall.** A: We have very limited space behind the faucet. We set it in the granite with the handle more towards the front, which is easier to use from the left side. **Q: Is this faucet 23.8 " high ? What's the clearance for the handle , I have 3 " from the middle of the base to the backsplash .** A: My sink is 6" deep and I have no problem with my Calla faucet since you can control the amount of water flow. Attractive, brushed steel finish matches my sink. Installation took about 2 hours, start to finish on my own (not a professional plumber, but fairly handy). I made sure I had some teflon tape and plumber's putty on hand, then forgot to use the tape and the connections proved to be water tight without it. The plumber's putty is used to seal the bottom of the deck plate to the top of the sink and prevent any water from leaking through, but since the plate includes a soft rubber seal, I suspect the putty is also not absolutely necessary as long as the faucet is securely tightened during installation. I get a little splashing in spray mode because the jet stream is so strong, but it's minimal if I angle the spray away from my silicone sink strainer, which seems to act like a trampoline for water.
