OK... so then we shelve it for about two months (in it's own container, in a drawer where it is not exposed to harsh conditions or being jostled by other items).When we did take it out of the drawer and on a hiking trip - the bulb sprang a leak. It was like: it had two good squeezes in it before the plastic bulb began to break at the seams and tear open in what I can only imagine are pin-point flaws in the rubber itself. Those "bubbles in the rubber" are little tears or flaws in the rubber of the bulb, away from any seam, and with each use open up more and more.We tried caulking, and gluing, and heat welding the little flaws away.. but nothing has worked so far.We never tried to send it back to the manufacturer as it comes from Germany (and the 90 day return period w. Amazon had expired). If we had not stored it for so long before putting it to serious use we SURELY would have returned the item.When shopping for bulb releases we saw that there was one or two other positive reviews on this product and thought "what the heck.. it is such a simple thing, how can they get it so wrong?" Well, now we know.NO - don't buy it. But the cheapy 20$ bulb instead and then you won't have to regret spending 40$ on an item that is totally unreliable and just as flawed as the competitor's half priced knock off. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Not as shown in pictures !! *by M***O on Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2009* This cable release is certainly better made than other off-brand products, but it's not as well made as the one shown in the photographs on its own box.
