A cutting wheel cut through 3mm thick mouthguard material with no issues, but I now have two units that have failed within 15 minutes of using a carbide bur and/or sanding brush/wheel. It seems that if the unit is put in reverse (yes, I ensured the handpiece was off and the bur was properly chucked before reversing), it stops working. I guess the price really is too good to be true.
