They spent 150 man hours trying to scrub it off with scotch pads and soap with no avail, then found this stuff. I don't think they used it all (they took the remainder with them) and the film came off in about four hours, floor looked new again. I would say a little goes a long way. I bought this as a back up in case I find any spots they missed. It has a very clean, neutral odor. I would highly recommend the product. **Q: i have old natural slate flooring that is stained and quite dirty looking. I would like to clean and then seal with sheen and not falt finish..** A: This product is barely abrasive. If you cant clean it with a scotchbrite pad I think this product wont make a bit of difference. I have been disapointed. On the other hand, it wont scratch polished surfaces. As regarding your slate, I think it will be a waste of time. The only reason to use this is to preserve a polished surface. This product has hightech name but is nothing special, likely is just chalk dust in a carrier fluid. Your slate is likely not sealed, dirt in deep, and may not be possible to remove now, esecially with this especially delicate and ineffective cleaner. I would think with a non polished surface you might get away with abrasive cleaners and more abrasive cleaning pads than white mesh sheets (nylon), maybe try green abrasive sheets (which is like 150 grit). Maybe even household cleaners like ajax. Try in inconspicuous area first. **Q: Our tile contractor grouted before sealing our limestone. We have sealant with grout haze underneath. Will this remove the sealer and the haze?** A: Don't know, but I would hold your contractor accountable. Or find a chemical engineer. **Q: Can this be used on Saltillo Spanish tile flooring?** A: I used this to clean vintage saltillo on an exterior terrace. The tiles were unsealed and delicate, so some surface erosion occurred. However, the cleaning effect was good, but required elbow grease. If you are in doubt, test on an inconspicuous tile first. Let it dry thoroughly (several days, at least).
