It has exceeded my expectations.The wooden base is well finished and separate from the globe. Experience says handle the globe and base separately, until they are in position, as the globe easily falls off the base when moving the item as one piece.The globe is clear glass with an etched solar system contained within. The slight negative is that the planet names are difficult to read. The little remote control has a battery supplied and works nicely to dim the lights and change the colours. The spectacular lights on the ceiling, that can be created with the remote at night, are really pretty.I would thoroughly recommend this as a gift for anyone interested in the Solar system and the price at the time of this review, £14.99, is very reasonable.
