Review: So much better than AX8100 - I purchased this reciever to replace the AX8100 that came installed in my 2024 Entegra Odyssey. The number one issue I had with the 8100 was the inability to see the screen with polarized sunglasses, the screen just appeared solid black. The screen on the 8500 allows the use of polarized sunglasses. Additionally the screen is much clearer, and sharper and shows less glare than the 8100. The audio is also substantially improved over the 8100. Even with the same speakers it sounds amazing. Android Auto works wirelessly connecting automatically. No regrets on this purchase at all. I am very happy with the unit.
Review: Great sound, quick input response, very refined! - I've only had this unit installed for a few days but, wow this thing is great so far! I recently installed a Jense. CAR140MW and it malfunctioned after a month. I returned it and decided to step up to this Sony unit. I am glad I did. What a difference! The sound quality on this unit is superb. One of the most notable differences with this unit compared to the Jensen is it's refinement amd responsiveness. It is lightning quick when selecting on screen buttons or apps. Connects seamlessly to my Samsung phone via wireless android auto. So far so good. Love it!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Screen is huge
*by D***R on February 23, 2026*

I’ve only had this unit installed for a days but, wow this thing is great so far! I I started buying those cheap Chinese radios since I wasn’t building a new system. Well I pulled the trigger and bought it and a bunch of other stuff. I’m glad I did. Major difference between this and a cheap radio
