Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W Basic Kit with Official Case

I know these have been out for a very long time. But to tell the truth I am just learning about them. I use them at work for many different projects and they save a lot of time in diagnosing issues from a long distance. Great tool.

There’s a shortage of Pi Zero 2 Ws, and this kit is the cheapest that I could find. And from all the kits out there, it’s probably the most useful because a case is a must anyways. It includes a GPIO header quick reference.

This is a good kit overall. I like the included case options and power supply. But I leave off a star because of the strange choice of included heat sink: I assume it's intended for the RP3A0-AU SoC, but its size instead matches the smaller adjacent, shielded wireless chipset. (See the attached photo, but keep in mind that the pictured microSD card is *not* included in this kit.) This probably doesn't matter much, because even the smaller heatsink should have some effect—and for my part I don't even need one in my application. Still, odd choice. The Pi Zero 2 W itself is great. If you're coming from an RPi 4 or 5, you should expect this to be much slower than those, and it only has 512 MB of RAM. But it still boots Raspbian quickly, and the low power draw is great for certain types of projects.

Bought to set up as my homes DNS/server. Set up was easy connection was through starlink. Improved security on my network and better parental controls for my kids. Will buy more to start a project with my kid. There is so many possibilities with these. Price is higher than it should be. The case is very simple but functional. The charger was nice because it didn’t have the typical on off switch.
