A: I think you should check on the BMW website to find their recommended lubricants--this oil was recommended to me by Kia for a 1.4 diesel engine

A: Hi, we don't give the date out as we have a constant turnover of stock and the date may be different when I check to when it is ordered. We sell a lot of it, so what we are selling is new stock.

**Q: Is this suitable for bmw e39 530d**
A: Shell Helix Ultra is a very good brand of oil which I use myself.  However, refer to your car handbook to check the recommended viscosity range.  If you don't have the handbook refer to the Shell Oil Finder website.  A quick look for the E39 2.5L turbo diesel (2001-2003) on that site recommends 5W40 but be aware that that engine requires 7L.  No DPF so no concerns there! Hope this helps.

Needed for topping up my 911 Turbo, as it's the engine oil used in the last major service. It uses a little if you're having fun! Top quality oil even if it's not what the official Porsche dealers use - they have to comply with Head Office policy.
