「シャプトン 砥石M5 エンジ 仕上砥石 #5000」の購入は2度目です。前回のは全面砥石で両面で研ぐ事が出来た。今回の砥石は下半分が（多分）セラミックの土台で強度対策と思われます。その分安心して刃物を研ぐことができます。半面セラミックの面では研ぐことは出来ないので注意が必要。この砥石は摩滅して減るのが少ないと感じています。

追記2019年の末で、製造終了ですM5の5000番が3000円黒幕5000番でも4000円程度なので、今後は黒幕ですね切れ味だけで言うなら、＃1500までで充分です。丁寧に＃5000までやると、切れ味が伸びるようですね。＃1500で下地をきっちりやっておけば、＃5000も短時間で済みます。

シャプトンの砥石は事前の吸水が不要と思っていたのですがこの砥石は10分の吸水が必要です。また、研ぐとけっこう黒い汁が出てくるので削れ過ぎていないか心配。
