I will say that it has been quite effective. I have a 3'x3' pantry and I used all the cedar balls in there and about 1 or 2 of the hanging sticks and it took a few weeks for the scent to build up but I have not seen a moth at all. My flour and sugar are safe. There would be some hanging around within the first few weeks and some larvae that were there, but after removing them, they have not come back to this area. For those that say it's weak and doesn't work, you have to understand you can't hang one in a room and expect it to repel all moths. The scent of the wood has to build up to levels detectable by them that causes them to flee, it's simple science. A draft will ruin the effectiveness of them. It needs static mostly unchanging air like a closed pantry or not often used closet. This is perfect because you can't smell it and the scent doesn't permeate your food.
