Review: I really like how, aside from teaching the correct way to write the kanji (important to those just starting or those like me who taught themselves to write them wrong) and giving cultural notes on the themes it covers, the book offers lots of exercises helping us learn to recognize and use the characters and their elements as well as compound words and sentences in a written text, spoken word and pictures. The book is easy to use even if you aren't native in English.

I really like how, aside from teaching the correct way to write the kanji (important to those just starting or those like me who taught themselves to write them wrong) and giving cultural notes on the themes it covers, the book offers lots of exercises helping us learn to recognize and use the characters and their elements as well as compound words and sentences in a written text, spoken word and pictures. The book is easy to use even if you aren't native in English.

Easy to use, don't be worried about practising the Kanji writing in the book, that is what it is for. However I would rcommend buying a) tracing paper so you can practise using a pen or brush b) buying a kanji paper writing book. The more you practise the strokes the more you remember the Kanji. The audio files are really good and the Q and A helps you gain confidence in the language.
