Review: Very good value. Refurb iPhone 15 Pro, 512gb. - This is the first time I've purchased an iPhone in refurb condition. However, I have had good experiences with desertcart resale/refurb products. I have to admit to being a bit hesitant and concerned about the actual quality of the phone, especially the state of the battery. Perhaps the fact that the phone arrived a few days before the expected delivery date range was a good omen. I specifically chose desertcart as the shipper/seller of the item. I felt that if there was any problems, having desertcart as the seller would entail less hassles with the resolution process. Fortunately, there were no major issues with iPhone. The front screen was scratch-free. There was some odd substance on the titanium sides (it seemed to be glue/adhesive residue). In general, the appearance was very good/excellent. The screen does not seem to retain much of the oil/fingerprint resistance feature. But, considering it was manufactured in 2024, this reduced aspect is to be expected. I think I'll eventually add a screen protector to deal with easy cleaning and additional protection of the screen. I ran apple diagnostics, and it passed on all the tests, indicating apple parts and functions. And, while the promise is for battery over 80% (I ordered the 'Renewed-Excellent'), it actually rated at 90%, with 591 cycles. I consider it a win. After transferring from my older iPhone, I only had to redo login/password for a few apps (financial and health apps, which makes sense that they're more secure). And, it was easy to transfer the esim to the 15Pro, too. Ordered a case today, which should arrive tomorrow. I'll be researching and ordering a screen protector this weekend. Considering an Apple Certified Refurb of same model and storage would be close to $1000, this was a very good value. My thinking was the battery state was probably the vulnerable aspect. So, even if I had to replace the battery after the 90 day warranty, the $100 cost was still be a financial win. (Hopefully, the battery lives as long as my iPhone XR did, haha). Anyway, I feel I made a wise choice getting this 'Renewed-Excellent' iPhone 15 Pro/512gb via desertcart (I did research other refurb venues, btw). Picking desertcart as shipper/seller was the safe, smart move too, imho. I would only be happier if the batty capacity was 100% and it came with a screen protector. Unfortunately, after approximately 8 months of normal use, the phone completely stopped working. The phone was never dropped or damaged and was working normally when I plugged it in before bed. The next morning the screen was completely dead. I took it to a professional phone repair shop, and they were unable to repair it. I contacted YY Wireless hoping they would stand behind a renewed phone that failed completely in less than a year. Their only response was that Amazon's 90-day renewed warranty had expired, so they would not offer a replacement, refund, or other resolution. To be clear, I understand that the failure occurred outside the stated 90-day warranty period. However, when you're paying a premium for a renewed phone advertised as being in Excellent condition, I think it's reasonable to expect it to last considerably longer than 8 months. What was most disappointing was the seller's unwillingness to offer any assistance or accommodation after such a short lifespan. Based on my experience, I would be very hesitant to purchase another renewed phone from YY Wireless.
